The synthesis and properties of two comb polyethers are reported. Ethylene glycol monoethyl ether glycidyl ether or diethylene glycol monoethyl ether glycidyl ether were polymerized in the presence of (i-Bu)₃Al catalyst system, giving corresponding comb polyethers. They showed good complexing capacities for K⁺, Na⁺ and PTC activities for the nucleophilic substitution of BuBr by PhOK.
