SYNTHESIS AND BACTERIOSTASIS OF FURANCILIN COMPLEXES WITH COPPER(Ⅱ),ZINC(Ⅱ),AND NICKEL(Ⅱ)

Five complexes[Cu(FDSC)₂]Cl₂,[Cu(FDTSC)₂]Cl₂,[Cu(N-FDSC)]Cl₂],[Zn(N-FDTSC)₂] and[Ni(N-FDTSC)₂] have been synthesized and characterized FDSCH=N-(2-furfural)-semicarbazone,FDTSCH=N-(2-furfural)-thiosemicarbazone, N-FDSCH=N-(5-nitro-2-furfural)-semicarbazone and N-FDTSCH=N-(5-nitro-2-furfural)-thiosemicar-bazone.It is found that N-FDSCH, N-FDTSCH,[Cu(N-FDSC)]Cl₂] and[Zn(N-FDTSC)₂] showed a significant bacteriostasis on Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia Coli. The relationship between the bacteriostatic activity and the structure of the compounds is discussed in the paper.
