SYNTHESIS OF MeO-SiO₂:Eu³⁺,Bi³⁺ LUMINOPUORS BY THE SOL-GEL METHOD AND A STUDY OF THEIR LUMINESCENCE SPECTRA

The luminophors MeO-SiO₂:Eu³⁺, Bi³⁺ and MeO-SiO₂Bi³⁺ (Me=Mg. Sr) were synthesized at relatively lower temperature by the sol-gel method using the silica sol as a source of silica. The optimum composition and synthesis conditions were obtained by studying the excitation and emission spectra and the effects of energy transfer from the Bi³⁺ ions to the Eu³⁺ ions.
