Synthesis and Flotation Property of Gemini Anionic Surfactants

Three kinds of gemini anionic surfactants were synthesized through addition reaction, acylation reaction and hydrolysis from starting materials of octanoyl chloride, decanoyl chloride and lauroyl chloride.The structures of the surfactants were identified by ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR and IR. The values of critical miscelle concentration(cmc) and surface stress (γ_cmc) measured at 25℃ decrease with the increase of hydrophobic chain length of the surfactants. The gemini anionic surfactant is able to enhance the collophanite floating capability of oleic acid.
